The story of PowerTrainLab began in 2015, in the heart of Lisbon, with a small group of engineers passionate about engines and the energy transition. We realized that knowledge about new automotive technologies – from hybrids to electric vehicles and alternative fuels – was fragmented and inaccessible to many students and professionals. That's how our mission was born: to create an educational platform that demystifies engine and transmission engineering, focusing on energy efficiency and the sustainable future of mobility.
Our first milestone was the launch, in 2017, of an interactive online course on internal combustion engine fundamentals, which quickly attracted hundreds of enrollees. In 2019, we expanded the curriculum to include advanced modules on hybrid systems and batteries, accompanied by our first virtual simulations.
